About Yatra
Do dham Yatra covers Gangotri and Yamunotri which are the first
two Dhams in the Uttarkhand circuit. Both places are the origin of two holy
rivers Ganga and Yamuna. Do dham Yatra starts with Yamunotri and Gangotri, from Dehradun, Haridwar
& Rishikesh, and ends with Rishikesh. You will consider the
sacred energy Yatra in both Dhams.
Yamunotri Dham
Yamunotri Dham is regarded as an opening of Uttarakhand Chardham
Yatra and the place where pilgrims are seeking Yamuna's blessings in order to
get Salvation (Moksha), according to mythological beliefs the lord Yam (God of Death) is
happy when one prays to Devi Yamuna because the Yamuna is his sister.
Gangotri Dham
Gangotri Dham is a wonderful spiritual spot on the pilgrimage
tour to Chardham. King Bhagirath did penance here, according to mythological beliefs, to
bring the Ganges on earth for attaining the salvation of his ancestors after which
River Ganges descended on earth.
